An apostille is a certification that makes a notarized document valid for use in another country that participates in the Hague Apostille Convention. It's a common need for documents like powers of attorney, affidavits, and other paperwork being sent abroad.
Who issues the apostille
Apostilles are issued by the Florida Department of State (the Florida Secretary of State), not by Jimenez Notary. Our role is to notarize the document first when required, and to provide administrative assistance preparing your Florida apostille request.
The general process
- The document is notarized by a Florida notary public.
- The notarized document is submitted to the Florida Department of State for apostille certification.
- Once issued, the apostilled document is valid for use in the destination country.
